If she's strong willed, then you can't boost her emotionally." Roderick maintains that all women have an Achilles heel hidden away in their sexy 3-inch stilettos that men are trying to size up. He schools women to provide men with fewer clues in honing in on their weaknesses.
Riddled with Roderick's own unique glossary of slang definitions, his creation of lingo not only proves that men are from Mars, but that they speak another language. "Ever notice that when she's talking about curtains for the bathroom, he might blurt out "Did Roger Clemmons just get traded?" "Manchangevo" is when a man abruptly changes conversation out of the blue, according to the author. "Mantasia" is that place where a man runs for cover when he doesn't want to be judged. The Potential Targeting System is a sophisticated "gauging method" that ranks complexity of "conquest level" from 1 to 5, a range from "easy" to "difficult".
Asked what fueled his streetwise insight, Roderick credits chatty and gregarious ex-wife Rosa, who stayed on the phone dispensing advice to girlfriends on their men. "I'd note the guidance she was giving, and just had to jump in," he says. Over time women would request, "Let's hear what your husband has to say." Roderick developed a cult-following. The radio-man turned relationship-guru maintains that the goal of his book is to arm women with the insight to read machominds, while prompting them to do a little self-evaluation.
